Susan’s Landing is a residential community of Clermont in Lake County, Florida. One of the most prominent landmarks in the city of Clermont is the Florida Citrus Tower located at 141 US-27. The 226-foot-tall tower was built in 1956 specifically to give visitors a chance at a bird’s eye view of the surrounding citrus groves. There was a time when people could see Orlando from the very top of the Florida Citrus Tower, and though it’s still the tallest observation point in Florida, residential neighborhoods are all that can be seen now. If you’re looking to learn a little presidential history, there is the Presidents Hall of Fame located at 123 South Highway 27, dedicated to U.S. Presidents and their families, as well as having displays such as a miniature White House replica. A collection of First Ladies Inaugural Gowns, a miniaturized version of Mount Rushmore, among others. In addition to that, Clermont is home to a number of parks, such as Waterfront Park located at 330 3rd Street, which is a lakefront park offering a fishing pier, a paved walking trail, a playground, and seasonal swimming. For shopping and dining options, Clermont has places like the ViaPort Florida located at 10401 U.S. 441, featuring anchor stores such as Belk, Sears, and Via Entertainment.
